New updates on Jurgen Klopp’s future revealed

Even after the 2-0 win over West Ham last weekend, questions about Arne Slott continued, having replaced Jurgen Klopp last year.

Klopp’s name was once again in the news after Liverpool’s poor start to the season, with just seven wins from their opening 13 Premier League games.

Journalist Sam Wallace of The Telegraph writes that the former Liverpool manager is fully focused on his work with Red Bull’s global football network, dashing any dreams of a quick return to Anfield.

Although some rumors suggest a dramatic return, Klopp is unlikely to return.

Wallace explains that Klopp’s recent comments about a “theoretical return” were just a general admission, with no concrete implications.

He already has an active role at Red Bull, and was even part of the decision to sack Marco Rose from RB Leipzig earlier this year.

That’s not to say Slot’s position is entirely secure, as Wallace insists FSG can act tough if necessary, although their style is not like that of many other owners.

Klopp took over the Red Bull project in January, shortly after leaving Liverpool in 2024 – ending an era of eight major trophies, including the Premier League and Champions League.

Liverpool currently have a three-match losing streak coming to an end with a win over West Ham.

Mohamed Salah was on the bench for the first time this season in the Premier League.

Alexander Isak scored, while Cody Gakpo also found the net to seal the victory.

Liverpool are preparing to face sixth-placed Sunderland at home before travelling to Leeds at the weekend.
