Real Madrid star injured, out for three weeks
Real Madrid confirmed on Thursday that French midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni has suffered a muscle injury, and according to ESPN sources, he will be out for around three weeks.
Tchouaméni played the full 90 minutes of Tuesday’s 1-0 Champions League win over Liverpool. However, after examinations carried out by the Madrid club’s medical staff, it was determined that the player requires rest and treatment.
“Following tests carried out today on our player Aurélien Tchouaméni by Real Madrid’s medical services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in his left thigh. His recovery process will be monitored,” the club said in a statement.
The injury will prevent the midfielder from returning to action for the French national team, as he was suspended for the final round of World Cup qualifiers in October.
Tchouaméni will also miss LaLiga matches against Rayo Vallecano and Elche, but is expected to return in time for the crucial Champions League clash against Olympiacos in Greece on November 26.
