Spalletti close to signing a contract with Juventus
Luciano Spalletti is ready to sign with Juventus, but the decisive element was his acceptance of a contract until June, with automatic renewal in case of qualification for the Champions League.
As previously explained, Spalletti has always been the first choice for the job, after the club decided to end their collaboration with Igor Tudor, no more than three months after the start of the season.
Roberto Mancini had been off the list since yesterday and in fact was never a “Plan B”, while Raffaele Palladino was kept as a reserve alternative in case negotiations did not go well.
The former Italy coach has always been in the spotlight and only an extraordinary change of strategy would have removed the club from this candidacy.
Today was decisive, as the meeting with Spalletti laid the foundations of the agreement, confirming that in reality there was no real competition between the two candidates.
In the end, what was mentioned yesterday afternoon seems to be the deciding factor – he immediately accepted the offer of a contract until June, with the possibility of an automatic renewal for another season in case of qualification for the Champions League.
With that hurdle overcome, Spalletti took the lead in the race and is moving rapidly towards the final signature.
