Arsenal legend defends Real Madrid star
Former Arsenal star Ian Wright has this week come out in strong defence of Real Madrid and England midfielder Jude Bellingham.
It comes after the youngster has been heavily criticised by the English media.
As part of his role as a pundit, Wright has weighed in on the repeated negativity towards Bellingham in his own country following the Three Lions’ 2-0 win over Albania on Sunday.
The former striker used the opportunity to give his full backing to the 22-year-old: “They have to create this kind of controversy because there’s nothing else to say until the World Cup, so it’s going to continue until the World Cup. They hate the fact that they can’t get him. They hate the fact that they can’t impact his career at the club negatively, like they have done with so many others before him. A blessed lad, gifted with incredible talent and love.”
Bellingham, for his part, was named Man of the Match for his latest international display.
Despite Harry Kane scoring both of England’s goals in Albania last night, it was the Real Madrid man who was voted the match’s standout performer by Three Lions fans.
