Bruno Fernandes sets one condition for Man Utd to stay
Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has sensationally stated that he would be open to moves to Spain, Italy and Portugal.
The Portuguese has stressed that his priority is to stay at United, but only if the club makes him feel wanted.
He admitted earlier this week that he was hurt when he found out the club wanted to sell him after Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal made a huge bid last summer.
Fernandes rejected the move because he loves Manchester United. However, his comments on Wednesday have cast serious doubts over his future at the club.
In an interview with Canal 11, he said: “I want to stay at Manchester United for as long as I feel wanted.”
“I would like to experience the Spanish league and fight for big titles in Italy. I have a lot of connections with Italy. My daughter was born there.”
“I have already thought about a return to Portugal. The first option would be Sporting. To be happy, like I was with Sporting, but I don’t want to ruin the image that is left.”
“I don’t want to go there just to be, I want to add something.”
“Even to try district football, at a later age. You play there for love, you feel different. I have friends in district football.”
Fernandes is the best transfer of the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era. He has scored 103 goals and provided 93 assists in 307 appearances in all competitions.
The 31-year-old has been a key part of Ruben Amorim’s team this season.
He has started all 16 Premier League games this season, scoring five goals and providing seven assists.
However, after his recent statements, there are doubts about his future. The club hierarchy may not be happy with these comments and could consider selling him next summer. Given his quality and experience at the highest level, there is expected to be a lot of interest in his services.
