Yamal denies injury reports: They are all lies!

Barcelona were held to a disappointing draw by Club Brugge on Wednesday, but one positive was the return to form of Lamine Yamali. The 18-year-old has been below his usual high level in recent weeks, but in Belgium he returned to his best, unstoppable version.

Lamine Yamal scored a goal, assisted another and at times was like a “single army”, pushing Barcelona forward. According to Diario AS, he reacted after the draw against Club Brugge, briefly speaking about his goal:

“We knew that Club Brugge were a good team, it’s difficult to win when they score 3 goals. We have to improve in that aspect. (My goal is) a quick move, Fermin passes me with his heel, but I’m left with the fact that we didn’t manage to get the win.”

There has been a lot of talk in recent weeks about Lamine Yamal’s physical problems. Since September, he has been dealing with pubalgia (pain in the groin area), which has not yet fully healed. After all the reports, the player himself has decided to clarify the situation:

“I don’t read much, I have to play. There has been a lot of talk about my pubalgia and it has upset me, because it is all lies. I have always been happy, focused on my work, on getting back and playing at this level, because that is how I enjoy football. I have to keep doing my job.”

Barcelona travel to Celta Vigo on Sunday for their last match before the November international break, and to stay in contention for the La Liga title, the Catalans need to win at a stadium where they have traditionally struggled.

Lamine Yamal will need to repeat a performance similar to the one against Club Brugge if Barcelona are to triumph in Balaídos.
